I am finishing up an 8 year project to visit all 50 state capitals! I started this project on Valentines Day 2015 so I'm planning to knock out #50, Juneau, AK, on Valentine's Day this year! But I'm also going to be doing a couple day stop in Sitka, AK for some sightseeing and hiking. It's only a 30 min flight to Juneau from Sitka, and Sitka is a place I've read about in books since I was a kid and always wanted to see. And for Juneau itself, I will be finishing my Capitals project and exploring the area too with the time I have. This is what I call a "blitz" trip; I move fast and see as much as I can to get a taste of an area! So if you want to get a taste of Alaska and wouldn't mind taking a capital picture for me and helping to celebrate the end of an 8 year  journey, drop me a line!  And here is a summary of my capitals project below so you can get a taste of what my capital visits usually look like: 

I am going to all 50 State Capital buildings. I love the history and architecture around the different capitals, so I always take a tour if possible and see as much as I can. But the main task is that I search the city for a t-shirt that either has the City name on it or something iconic about the state that let’s me know where it is. I then get a picture of myself wearing that shirt in front of the capital building. When I have all fifty done I am going to print them all out in 4x6 each and mount them in a large wall frame for a cool photography display. And to make it more fun, whenever I go to a new capital, part of the project is to eat a local meal, try the local beer and tour the entertainment/cultural center of the city to get a real feel for that spot. It is a lot of fun and I love going with cool folks!
