After quarantining for more than 4 months by myself, I realized that this is taking a big toll on my mental wellbeing. In the last 4 months, I have not met a single being in person, all I’ve done is staying in my one-bedroom apartment in Buffalo and attended zoom calls all day. I occasionally went out for a walk around the neighborhood but that’s pretty much it.
So I have decided to go on a 2-month remote work/road trip across the east coast (mostly new England area) with a friend. We will be hiking/exploring mountains and lakes across this region (Adirondacks, Acadia, Baxter, white mountain, green mountain, lake George, Moosehead lake, lake Winnipesaukee, lake Champlain) and also chasing the fall colors (we’ve created a fall-foliage map). Our plan is to work remotely during the weekdays and explore during the weekend.
So far we’ve rented a car for two months, luckily got a good deal on that - $1300 total for rental for two months. We’ve also started looking for Airbnb/VRBO options and our goal is to keep the accommodation budget to less than $1000 per month (per person). If there were more people, all these would be much cheaper.
We’re planning to start on August 28th from NYC and be back by the end of October. If anyone of you is in the same shoes as I am (working remotely/going crazy with quarantine), I’d be glad to have you join us! We have two more spots in the car. Feel free to message me in the inbox if you’re interested/we can align somehow.
