Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department in the US just launched a new web tool to help millions of non-filers with Economic Impact Payments. The tool is only available on IRS.gov and users need to look for "Non-Filers Enter Payment Info Here", when they are on the site to start the registration process.

IRS commissioner Chuck Rettig said, "People who don't have a return filing obligation can use this tool to give us basic information so they can receive their Economic Impact Payments as soon as possible." IRS and Free File Alliance partnered up to develop the tool.

In the registration process users need to provide basic information including Social Security number, name, address, and dependents. IRS will use the given information to confirm eligibility and calculate the payment. If users provide bank account information, IRS will send the payments directly the bank accounts. People without bank account can also get the payment mailed to them. Using the web tool will not result in any taxes being owed.

IRS published a full press release, where they also mentioned that automatic payments will begin next week.
