Multi day road trip ( flexible dates)

I have my car, just looking for a fun n chill travel buddy. 

AUSTIN > BIG BEND national park > NEW MEXICO > COLORADO > Dallas> Austin (return home)

I don’t smoke/ drink.

I don’t mind if you do but NOT IN CAR

Travel ideas:

Planning to camp at big bend atleast for 3-4 days and feel the dark nights (Big bend has the darkest nights and was told that we can see the amazing sky) 

and go to New Mexico to see the white sand deserts

and finally drive to Colorado (most exciting place to witness the fall colors and beautiful winters)

All these places are new to me. So feel free to make any suggestions, we can explore together.
