The current plan is to start at the northern terminus of the Arizona Trail in Utah, hike south through the Grand Canyon portion of the trail.  On the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, pick up mountain bikes and pedal the rest of the way to Mexico.  The idea is to loosely follow the Arizona Trail Race route, but at a much more leisurely pace, and without having to manually haul bikes through the Grand Canyon.
