We are planning a 4-week road trip from Ireland through France, Spain and Portugal next summer. We’ll take the ferry from Ireland to France or Spain, then travel by car and caravan, choosing our route as we go.
We want to see much more than the usual tourist spots — castles, old towns, spectacular landscapes, historic places and anything interesting we discover along the way. There will be plenty of adventure too: swimming, watersports, rafting, walks, exploring and simply seeing where the road takes us.
One of the main highlights will be Gibraltar for the total solar eclipse. Portugal is also definitely on our list, and we’d like to spend enough time there to really experience it rather than just drive through.
We’re a married couple and we think four weeks will be much more fun with the right person joining us. My wife would love a female friend to share the laughs, conversations and everyday adventures with — and I’ve always enjoyed the company of women, so having another great personality along would make the trip even more interesting. 🙂
We’ll cover the travel, campsites and activities, so there’s no need to worry about the cost of joining us. In return, we’d love someone independent, enthusiastic and happy to bring her own ideas to the adventure. We’re not looking for someone to simply follow our itinerary — we’d rather create the trip together.
