Thirteen days across both islands of New Zealand in early autumn — from Auckland's harbour to the glowworm caves at Waitomo, the Shire at Hobbiton, and the geysers and hot pools of Rotorua and Taupō. South through the volcanic plateau to Wellington, then a flight to Queenstown for Milford Sound and the Gibbston wine country, and finally two nights in Twizel under one of the world's darkest skies, walking the Hooker Valley beneath Aoraki/Mount Cook. Easy walking throughout, a Middle-earth thread from Hobbiton to Wētā Workshop, and a rental car for the parts worth driving slowly. We pretty much already have an itinerary. About Us:

We're a married gay couple in our mid-30s based in the Southern Maine area, and we're hoping to find some travel buddies — ideally long-term ones we can keep exploring with for years to come. 

Our usual rhythm is one big trip a year, plus several shorter getaways closer to home: around the Northeast, Quebec City and southeastern Canada, and a few trips within Maine every year.

As for travel style, we're very laid back. We love hiking, unwinding over a good bottle of wine, and anything to do with history and culture — old towns, museums, local food and stories.

We'd especially love to connect with another gay couple, though singles are very welcome too.
