Hi! My name is Nathan and I run a tour company based out of the US that focuses primarily on travel to Japan. I will be in Tokyo with some family from Nov 13 - 21st, but specifically, I am going to Yamagata (somewhere I've never been before) in order to build potential itinerary for my customers.

I will be travelling solo to Yamagata, but the places I am going: Ginzan-Onsen and Zao-Onsen are Ryokan that generally require that you pay for 2 people. So, I'm already paying for 2, I figured I could invite someone along and they could stay for free!

You might need to cover your own travel costs, but I've got the hotels covered. You are also welcome to join my itinerary while I explore.

Nov 15th

• Arrive in Yamagata for the evening
• Stay at Hotel Metropolitan in Yamagata (room with 2 twin beds)
• Possibly get Mal Pas reservation

Nov 16th

• Checkout
• Go to Yamadera Temple in the morning
• Head to Ginzan Onsen (1.5 hours away) and explore the area
• Stay at Takimikan Ryokan (Floor Tatami)

Nov 17

• Checkout in the morning and return to Yamagata
• Explore the Castle, Shopping streets and more
• That evening head to Zao Onsen
• Stay in Takamiya Ryokan Miyamaso (room with hot spring and floor tatami)

Nov 18

• Checkout and explore the Zao area in the morning 
• Leave for Yamagata and head back to Tokyo
