22-Day Program Overview
Anaconda Expedition – Phase 1
August 3 – August 12, 2027
Day 1
Departure by small aircraft or seaplane from the Iquitos Air Force Base.
One-hour flight to the town of Angamos, located near the Brazilian border.
Meeting with the experienced indigenous trackers who will accompany us during the expedition.
Overnight in Angamos.
Day 2
Organization of supplies and expedition logistics before starting the river journey.
Navigation by motorized canoe toward one of the least explored regions of the Amazon rainforest.
Birdwatching along the route.
Arrival at a native community.
Accommodation in a traditional community house.
Days 3–10
Navigation deeper into the rainforest by motorized canoe.
Establishing expedition camps in the wilderness.
Hiking through primary rainforest.
Wildlife observation.
Night explorations.
Visits to mineral clay licks, where many species gather.
Identification and tracking of animal footprints and signs.
Exploration of remote lakes and flooded palm swamps where aguaje palms (Mauritia flexuosa) grow—an important habitat for the giant anaconda (Eunectes murinus).
Search for elusive giant anacondas.
Overnight in remote jungle camps.
Phase 2 – Survival Program
August 13 – August 22, 2027
We believe the best option is to conduct the survival program in the same remote region where the Anaconda Expedition takes place, as the environment provides excellent natural resources and ideal conditions for practicing survival skills in a truly authentic setting.
Days 11–20 – Survival Training
The survival modules we could integrate include:
• Proper and safe use of a machete
• Construction of individual jungle shelters
• Navigation using natural signs
• Compass training and practical field orientation
• Techniques for locating and securing water
• Food procurement strategies
• Fire-making under extreme jungle conditions
• Trap construction principles
• Improvised fishing methods
• Field food preparation
• Identification and use of survival-relevant flora
• Recognition of animals potentially harmful to humans
• River and lake floating techniques
• Construction of individual flotation devices for downstream travel
• Controlled isolation phase under supervision
Day 21 – August 23, 2027
Return by motorized boat to Colonia Angamos (approximately 12 hours).
Overnight in Angamos.
Day 22 – August 24, 2027
Departure by small aircraft from Angamos to Iquitos.
Arrival in Iquitos.
