16 days across Japan, 30 Oct – 14 Nov 2026, flying in to Tokyo and out of Osaka. Route: Tokyo (2n) → Hakone (1n) → Matsumoto (2n) → Takayama (2n) → Shirakawa-go day stop → Kanazawa (2n) → Kyoto (3n) → Kinosaki Onsen (1n) → Osaka (2n), with a Nara day trip. Autumn colours through the Japanese Alps is the whole reason for the timing.
I'm 36, from Bangalore, travelling solo. The idea is to hit the unmissable things in the big cities and spend the rest of the time in smaller places — old towns, onsen, mountains — rather than queuing. Mostly walking, local trains and buses. Budget-conscious: hostels, capsules and guesthouses, with one splurge night at a Kinosaki ryokan.
My route and accommodation are already booked, so I can't shift dates — but I'd love company for a leg or two, or just for a day. Kyoto (8–11 Nov) and Osaka (12–14 Nov) are the easiest to join, and I'm keen on things like the Hozugawa river boat and a Nara day trip. Happy to plan together or just meet for dinner. Everyone books and pays for their own stuff.
