Hi! I'm an American, originally from Vermont, living in Holland since 2018 and really loving it here. Holland doesn't have mountains or snow or wilderness or natural diversity or pancake diners or bipolar political deadlock, but other than that it's great, I promise. I work as a web developer - not the most social job! - and more and more I've realized that I really need to put energy into finding / building likeminded community. • Interests include: philosophy, psychology, spirituality, tech, AI, programming, dinosaurs, epistemology, math, mazes, sci fi (not the Star Wars kind), connecting with immigrants and refugees, languages (esp. German & Italian), etymology, video games, kayaking, boardgames, personal growth work, pancakes (not the Dutch kind), mountain trail running, holistic medicine. • Things I dislike: cigarettes, alcohol, bars, seafood, sauerkraut, blue cheese, opera, yappy dogs, yelling, fake smiles, Putin, black-and-white absolutism, Python, strong perfumes, car-centric infrastructure.
