I was a digital nomad before it became fashionable, and now I’m semi-retired with even more freedom to wander for weeks or months at a time. For me, two weeks in one place feels just right—long enough to discover the bakery everyone raves about, short enough to keep the adventure moving.
I prefer small towns, hiking trails, mountains and rugged coastlines. I feel a real buzz when I manage to capture a striking image with my camera—though it doesn’t happen as often as I’d like.
I enjoy travelling solo, but it’s always richer and more rewarding when shared—whether on a road trip, over a drink, or a meal. A glass of wine and good conversation can make any journey feel even more memorable. I love conversations that go deep—or nowhere at all—and I’m endlessly curious about what drives people, how they live, what they eat, and why they call a place home.
At my age (62), I’m now less of a backpacker and more of an Airbnb-or-budget-hotel traveller. But I’m still fit and will happily hike for several hours or rough it for a spectacular view.
I’m looking to share parts of longer journeys—or whole trips—with a kindred spirit who sees flexibility not just as a travel style, but as a way of life. If “let’s see where this road goes” sounds like your kind of fun, we’ll get along.
