Kilian-J's Bio
Explore. Experience. Discover. Repeat. This is the narrative I tell to myself every day. I live my life as an adventure, in which life can take many different shapes. Embracing change, following my feelings and flowing with reality is how I try to experience my little journey in this world - always with a playful attitude! I think the most common mistake is to take life too seriously. You will either find me exploring nature or talking, dancing and drinking with lovely people. You may also find me alone - thinking, reading or writing. Depending on my life stage you may also find me trying to fix the world. This is me and I love myself as I am - as much as I love everyone else as they are! My journey so far: I did my A-Levels in an international German School in Barcelona, Spain, where I grew up. Afterwards, I set out to Munich to study mechanical engineering and become a researcher in renewable energies... Things went pretty differently. I studied economics on top, co-founded a social startup in Uganda about entrepreneurship training, an NGO in Munich about inclusive public speaking and a saison-based family business about stationary delivery to help a family member with her debts. I cross-financed most of my studies and voluntary activities through working student jobs, got partly in debt which I partly recovered. I waitered and cold-called on a freelance basis to finance my unemployment after a personal crisis. I moved to rural Zimbabwe to work on an agribusiness model based on energy-water-food systems for a remote Jesuits community. Afterwards, I started a masters degree in environmental engineering in Munich and fully cross-financed it with a side-job again. Today, I am pausing my masters degree for an undetermined time: I finally collected enough courage to follow an inner voice that has been following me since I am a child year after year. A voice urging me to set out to this world with the little I have, and with no real plan to see where things lead me. How long is this trip going to last? 6 months? or 5 years? I don't know and I don't care. Because I learned: Life is an amazing journey with ups and downs, with surprises and full of constant self-discovery. Don't hold on one goal and let go. Navigate life with the winds it offers and enjoy both ups and downs. Do what feels right. Stay flexible. Stay dynamic. Stay curious. Stay ever-changing.
