"Been there, done that" with solo travel! Time to turn travel into a shared experience :) My ideal companions are reliable, friendly and warm people with superb communication skills. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3 broad categories of interest: 1) "special" trips ; 2) winter escape to San Diego (maybe 1-8 weeks?) ; 3) summer travel to, and around, my native Europe (I'm originally from Italy, but longtime San Francisco area resident.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ About me: I'm a non-binary, artist/scientist, working remotely in the biomedical field. Most of the year I'm happy staying at my lovely homebase in Berkeley, CA... but I'd like to travel in the summer (Europe), mid-winter (San Diego or Hawaii or Brazil) and perhaps other special trips to be determined. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I ESPECIALLY LIKE TRAINS AND SHIPS as methods of transportation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Personality-wise, I'm easygoing and communicative. I'm not so tied to "seeing A or doing B", but rather "doing something interesting with a personable travel companion". I do a lot of that locally (in the San Francisco area) with my local friends and housemates - but getting them to be free enough to travel is a herculean task! Sadly, all of them have onsite jobs or attend university. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My remote work is mostly independent research... so, no worry about lots of meetings during the trip :)
