I'm a former corporate journalist who's going through the biggest transition of my life. I've been to South Korea at least 7 times in various capacities, and it feels like home to me. I took a 3-week Seoul-Jeju-Seoul trip alone in January last year, and it was one of the best of my life, even though I've been travelling regularly since I was 20. Now an early-stage entrepreneur trying to rebuild my life from scratch and can't remember the last time I had a full day off because I find it impossible to do so in Singapore. So here I am, purposefully displacing myself in an environment that feels both foreign and familiar to me, looking to regenerate so I can come home fully rested and ready to move forward with my new life.
