🇲🇽 YUCATÁN & CHIAPAS — ARCHAEOLOGY, ADVENTURE & DIVING

Hi! I'm Fraser, 44, from Scotland, travelling solo around the Yucatán Peninsula and Chiapas this December.

I've planned an independent trip focused heavily on Maya archaeology, history and mythology, mixed with cenotes, caves, jungle adventures and diving before finishing with some relaxation on Cozumel.

I'm travelling independently regardless, but I'd love to meet other travellers along the way — particularly anyone interested in sharing taxis, private drivers, guides or excursions where travelling together can significantly reduce the cost per person.

You definitely don't need to join the whole trip. If our plans overlap for one day, one archaeological site or a few destinations, that's perfect.

19–21 Dec — Xpujil / Calakmul
20 Dec — Calakmul
21 Dec — Becán + Chicanná

21 Dec onward — Caribbean coast
Tulum / Cobá area → Cozumel

🤿 COZUMEL

I'm an Advanced Open Water diver with 100+ logged dives and will be doing some diving around Cozumel, followed by some sunshine and relaxation before returning to Cancún for my flight home.

🚐 WHO I'M LOOKING FOR

Independent travellers of any nationality who enjoy archaeology, history, adventure, diving or simply exploring somewhere properly.

I'm not looking for a party holiday. I enjoy social hostels, meeting travellers and having a beer or two in the evening, but the days are primarily about exploring.

The biggest opportunities to share costs will probably be:

• Uxmal + Kabah
• Oxkintok + Calcehtok
• Edzná
• Yaxchilán + Bonampak
• Calakmul
• Becán + Chicanná
• potentially Chichén Itzá / Ek Balam and other transfers

I'm particularly interested in finding 1–3 other travellers to split private-driver/taxi/guide costs on some of the harder-to-reach archaeological days.

No problem whatsoever if you're only interested in one excursion.
