I want to take the Queen Mary II from New York to the UK towards the middle or end of summer. This would be a one-way booking for me, as I plan to wander around Europe for a few months afterwards. Rooms cost about $2000 for 2 people for a week long trip, but that includes the food. Considering a transatlantic flight is around $600-$800, that's like only paying a few hundred for a week of food lodging. The bed can be configured as either a king or two single beds. Male or female doesn't matter to me as long as we're comfortable sharing a confined space with each other. Obviously this would require a lot of getting to know each other, and ideally an in person meeting, before booking.
Btw, if the Queen MaryII sounds out of your budget but you're still interested in crossing the Atlantic by boat, I have also considered booking a room on a freighter (they rent out any extra rooms not needed by the crew). It's slower and there's no internet, but it's also cheaper. Given the lack of internet, I would at least want someone I know to chat with for the voyage. Message me if that interests you and I'll investigate it further.
