Hi! My name is Abigail, I’m 24 and from Texas, and I’m planning a trip to Shanghai in April 2027. I’m currently looking at approximately April 16 through April 27, but my dates are flexible and I’m happy to adjust them somewhat depending on plans and who I meet.

One of my close friends will be studying in Shanghai at the time, which is the main reason I’m going. However, she’ll have classes for at least a few hours each day and won’t necessarily be available to explore or travel with me the entire time. I’m looking specifically for other women, preferably around my age, who will be in China around the same time and might want to explore together.

I’m thinking of spending about 10 to 11 days in China, primarily based in Shanghai. I definitely want to spend plenty of time exploring the city, but I’m also interested in visiting nearby places like Suzhou, Hangzhou, and one of the water towns. I’m still early in the planning process, so I’m very open to suggestions and would be happy to plan parts of the trip together.

A little about me: I recently graduated from Harvard with my master’s degree and studied psychology at Rice for undergrad. I’m originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. I love traveling, history, beautiful architecture, museums, shopping, cafés, good food, taking pictures, getting dressed up, and experiencing new places. I’m not particularly interested in backpacking or nightlife. My travel style is more sightseeing, exploring beautiful places, trying restaurants, shopping, and having fun together.

As far as accommodations, there’s absolutely no expectation that we would need to stay together. I’m perfectly happy for us to have our own hotel rooms and meet up whenever we want. However, if I meet someone I really get along with and we’re both trying to keep the trip more affordable, I’d also be open to sharing a hotel room and splitting the cost. I’m flexible and would want us both to do whatever feels most comfortable.

I’d be equally happy to find someone who wants to travel together for a substantial portion of the trip or someone who will already be in Shanghai and would like to meet up for sightseeing, meals, or excursions to nearby cities.
