I'm moving my family to Merida for a while, and we want to bring our car. I'm driving it there on an epic roadtrip and looking for someone to join me! This is a flexible example of the itinerary.Days 1–3: Miami to New Orleans (Fast Track, Key Sightseeing)
Day 1: Miami → Tampa
Morning: Depart Miami, optional brief Everglades detour.
Afternoon: Arrive Tampa; explore the Riverwalk, Ybor City, or beaches.
Day 2: Tampa → Pensacola → New Orleans
Early start, drive through Florida's panhandle.
Optional lunch stop at Pensacola (beach, historic downtown).
Continue into Alabama/Mississippi (Mobile, Gulfport quick stops if desired).
Evening: Arrive New Orleans, check-in, enjoy first taste of the city.
Day 3: New Orleans
Full day for sightseeing: French Quarter, Garden District, jazz, Cajun food, riverfront, etc.
Days 4–12: New Orleans to Mérida (Longer Days Driving, Mexico Adventure)
Day 4: New Orleans → Houston
Around 6 hours; explore Houston, NASA Center, or the Museum District.
Day 5: Houston → Brownsville
6–7 hours; optional stop at Corpus Christi (beaches) or direct route.
Overnight in Brownsville; prep for Mexico crossing.
Day 6: Brownsville → Tampico (Mexico)
Enter Mexico via Matamoros; coastal drive, scenic but long (~8 hours).
Day 7: Tampico → Veracruz
Longer haul (7–8 hours) but beautiful coast/cities; evening on the malecón.
Day 8: Veracruz → Villahermosa
6–7 hours; see parks or museums if time allows.
Day 9: Villahermosa → Campeche
6 hours; Spanish colonial walled city, old forts, seafood.
Day 10: Campeche → Mérida
Short drive (~2 hours), arrive midday.
Days 11–12: Mérida/Yucatán Region
Explore Mérida (colonial center, markets, museums, food).
Day trip options: cenotes, Uxmal ruins, Progreso beach.
