I've hired a car and want to do the ring road in about 7 days. I'm looking for 1-2 travel buddies to share the memories with and, of course, split the costs. ;) The start and end dates are flexible to within a day.

I haven't done much research yet but I'm envisioning something like the following:

• Start in Reykjavik, go clockwise
• Stop for natural and cultural sites along the road
• Take detours or go for small(ish) hikes, time permitting
• Stay at hostels or affordable guest houses (happy to share a twin room)
• Ideally take turns driving (not a deal breaker)
• On the road we could listen to nerdy podcasts, chat, enjoy the silent scenery or introduce each other to music (be warned that my tolerance for EDM and hip hop is unfortunately low, sorry)

If you've got any suggestions, I'm all ears! I've already booked a car (Toyota Yaris) that should be good for 2 people, 3 if the baggage is squeezable, but I can still cancel it if you have a better idea. Depending on the number of drivers and insurance coverage, the costs will be sth like 650-750€ + gas.
