- Late August/early September, 9 nights in Faro, traveling entirely by train and bus. I'm using Faro as a base to explore the coastline: Tavira and Olhão to the east, and Lagos to the west, along with boat trips through the Ria Formosa to Ilha Deserta and a guided hike along the Seven Hanging Valleys trail to the Benagil Cave Strolling through the old town and spending days at the beach—no tightly packed schedule. I don’t have a driver’s license, so I rely on public transport or tours that include pickup.
