Meetup Point is arbitrary. It could be anywhere in the Balkans.
If you viewed this trip prior to April, I’ve updated the schedule due to COVID. Now I plan to start the trip in Athens July 1 and end in Tirana September 29. But of course this is contingent on global travel conditions this summer.
My tentative plan is to spend the first week of July in Athens and at least the last few days of September in Tirana. As of today (10 April) my schedule is very flexible for the ~10 weeks in between. I intend to spend at least two weeks in each of Romania, Bulgaria and Albania. But how I’ll travel between these countries (rental cars, flights, buses or trains) and the path I’ll follow is still to be determined. I’m also willing to include Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and other areas of Greece.
So if you plan to be anywhere in the Balkans from July through September and you’d like a travel buddy for a few days or weeks, give me a shout and maybe we can work something out.
I prefer to stay at each stop along the way for at least a few days rather than hitting the road (or the train tracks or airways) every other day. And I usually book homestays with a kitchen or kitchenette, but I’m flexible about pretty much everything.
